Is Arise A Work From Home Scam?
If you have fully exhausted yourself in an online goose hunt to find a legitimate work-from-home opportunity, you are not alone!
It is incredibly difficult to find a great opportunity to earn an income from home, whether it be working online or something else.
So, if you have come across a platform called Arise, you may be wondering….is Arise a work from home scam?
After doing my due diligence, I have gathered up quite a bit of information, and I’ll tell you in this review of Arise what I have come to the conclusion of.
You all know that I do not like to see fellow Mompreneurs, or ANYONE for that matter, being taken advantage of by sneaky scammers.?
Let’s get started!
What Is Arise?
Via their website, “Arise Platform connects small call center companies (you) to a wide range of customer support opportunities from Fortune 500 and other world-class clients.”
They have actually been in operation for more than 20 years, and have a good reputation, and are also a leading source for virtual customer care.
We are off to a good start, because we are hard-pressed to find a work-from-home company with an all around good reputation, trust me.
What Would My Job Be?
Should you choose to sign up to work with Arise, you would be providing customer service, technical support, and facilitating inbound sales via email and phone as an independent contractor.
This sounds a little scary, I know. Especially if you are not in the business of customer service and just want to make some money from home.
However, it’s actually a good thing. When it comes to choosing your own hours, and selecting which clients you’d like to work with, you’ll have a lot more freedom.
When you have completed the sign-up process, you will be directed to a list of clients and you can choose ( based on qualification training cost and minimum hours of work required), which clients you’d like to work with.
One of the better things about this platform is definitely the freedom and the fact that you will basically have at least a few options for work as soon as you have completed your set up and training.
How Do I Start?
There is a process to signing up and becoming a registered agent at Arise. Here is the list:
Please note: this is NOT a same day process. You have to actually incorporate your business. You’ll need an LLC. The process for this is different in every state, and you will find the exact process on your state’s website.
The process for acquiring your LLC can take from 1-3 weeks.
There is also an associated cost with becoming an LLC, which is detailed below with other startup costs.
Also keep in mind that you are not actually an employee of Arise. You are an independent contractor once you finish the signup process.
I know, it does seem like a lot to get started, but I’m actually pretty impressed by this.
The process ensures that you are protected and you are running your business legitimately. This is a good thing.
Most of the reviews I do are of companies so shady I don’t even know where to begin in telling you to RUN..but this one has proved to be very legitimate. So I appreciate that!
What Are The Startup Costs?
Here’s where it can get a little tough.
I know that when I began my online business, I didn’t have a lot of money to spare.
Here are the estimated costs to begin:
Note from the chart above that you MUST take a certification course with each client that you choose to work with so that you are familiar with their company and policies and have a solid understanding of what your responsibilities are. The cost reflected above is for EACH COURSE.
Depending on which clients you choose, the cost of the initial course will vary, and you will be able to view the cost of the course before locking down an agreement to work with a particular client.
You can expect to shell out somewhere between $250 to $700 just to begin.
Also, there are recurring monthly costs. The average recurring monthly costs are $124.
What Can I Expect To Be Paid?
The entry level position pay ranges from about $9-$14 per hour. This is on the lower end of the pay scale, I know.
These aren’t the kind of numbers you want to see when you think of beginning your own business and becoming your own boss.
There are, however, chances to advance.
The higher performance you offer, the more chance for advancement and the more opportunity you have.
As with other businesses, it’s really all about how much effort you plan to put into it.
Remember that because you are not an employee of Arise, you will be paid by the clients that you choose to work for.
There will be a document stating the pay that you can expect from each client that you can view before you sign up to work for them.
You will also sign a document called a Statement of Work which will ensure that you have work with this particular client for around 3 months.
Is Arise Work From Home For Me?
Honestly, this company is about as legitimate as it comes. There isn’t a scam alert going off.
If you intend to start up an online business and really work at it, this could be the opportunity for you.
If you are not certain that working from home is for you… I would take a little more time to think it through.
Considering the fact that you have to become incorporated AND have the equipment necessary to begin, AND pay for training to begin, this is not an opportunity to halfheartedly prance into.
Long-term commitment is pretty necessary in this case, or you’ll be losing all of the money you invested to get started.
If you’re serious about pursuing a work from home opportunity, I would recommend giving this one a shot.
The website is thorough, informative, forth-coming, and all around reputable.
There is nothing shady about this company.
