Who Is Tempesta Media For, And How Does It Work?
This company could cater to anyone with a website that contains content. In addition to custom writing for blogs and other websites, they also provide materials such as:
To some of us, it may seem a little awkward to have someone that you know nothing about write content to appear on our website. However, with this particular company, you first create what is known as a Voice Profile.
While being recorded, you answer a questionnaire, and the writer assigned to your content will use it as the framework for your content.
The writer listens carefully to your tone, inflection, overall style and personality.
This is done so that the content that is created sounds more like it came from you than someone else. It fits in nicely with your already existing content.
After the voice profile is established, you have an interview with your account manager so that you can discuss your overall goals.
Once the get-acquainted process is wrapped up, your writer(s) begin researching and creating, the content is edited, and then you receive a draft.
Here is the timeline and sequence of events:
1 week – You do the voice profile, and speak with your account manager.
1 week – An in-depth outline is drawn up, with topics for possible content.
5 business days – The writer assigned to your content will begin researching and creating content based on outside research and your voice profile. The content is then edited in-house, and you receive a draft. Note that it could take 7 business days if your content is over 1,000 words. If it is over 2,000 you will have a custom timeline.
1-2 business days – If you weren’t quite satisfied with the content, you have the ability to have it revised until you are fully satisfied. That’s a definite selling point for this company. Any revisions will have a turnaround time of 1-2 business days.
On your time – Download and Publish. You can publish the content pretty much anywhere you would like. It’s completely yours, and has been approved as genuine (has not in any way been copied).
So, the whole process to begin with will take a minimum of three weeks, if you require revisions.
After the initial setup, you can expect to have a five business day turn around.
This seems pretty great for busy website owners!
You are allowed to give your input and submit some research if you want. But ultimately, the writer will be doing all the research and creating.
This could be good or bad.
If you are a micro manager (I’m totally guilty), this seems a little scary. Because there is no price information whatsoever until you call for your personalized consult, I’m not sure about locking myself down for something that my micromanaging brain might not be able to handle.
On the other hand, if you are laid back and cool, sure! Sounds great.
What Tools Are Available?
The whole company is the tool, actually.
You have access to a team of writers and professionals in the content marketing arena.
Aside from content creation, the company also offers editing options, topic suggestions, and competitor analysis, and content marketing consulting.
There are two different plans to choose from if you would like to SOLELY use the editing service:
- Proofreading. This is exactly what it sounds like. An editor will go through your content (that you have created), and fix any misspellings, grammatical errors, and typos.
- The cost is .05 per word. So, if your post is, say 1200 words, you are paying $60 to have it edited.
- The writing platform that I use does all of this for me for no extra cost, so I can’t get behind that.
2. Deep Dive. With this option, the editor will go through the content and make use of your voice profile, making sure that everything is in line with the tone, style, and message you are trying to convey. Everything in the proofreading option is also included in this.
a. The cost is .10 per word. $120 for a 1200 word post. This can get a little pricey if using for every piece of content. But it is a nifty service.
The topic suggester sounds great if you get stuck in a rut, however with the company not disclosing any price information, it’s difficult to determine if this tool is worth it.
If you choose to use the content marketing consulting service, you will be given expert advice on how to leverage any areas of weakness in your competitors’ content and websites, and will be given useful information about competition’s social media and content marketing channels.
What’s the Support Like?
With being able to have frequent access to your account manager, and correspondence with your writer to discuss revisions, the support is good.
The effort on your part will be little to none once your writer has all the needed information, and if you are unhappy about the content, it’s pretty clear that there are no issues with revisions.
There is also the option to email or schedule a call with the experts.
The only off thing about this is the “schedule a call” option.
If you have an urgent question, this would be a little frustrating – after all, your content and business materials do represent you.
This is where I’m a little on the fence.
Tempesta Media doesn’t give any price information, so you have to call for a consultation to get any idea of prices. The idea of them writing your content is to save you time, and calling for a consultation takes time.
Similar companies’ pricing leads us to believe that the end cost could be anywhere from $4,000 to $20,000 per month.
The inaccessibility here is slightly inconvenient. But, here are the three plans that they offer:
I’d have to say that the usability is good.
Everything runs smoothly, and you can track the progress of your content creation at all times.
Because they do the majority of the work for you, you can focus on other things outside of your website or business, and once your writer has gotten a feel for your style, you can kick back and let them do the hard part!
What’s the Final Word?
Overall, I believe this is a pretty good company to use if you are too busy or uninterested in creating your own content.
The process is very simple and easy to understand, and the turnaround time is decent (but takes far longer than if you were to sit down and write the post yourself).
I personally can’t hand over the reigns of my business without being deeply involved, and if this sounds familiar to you, I wouldn’t even call for a consultation.
